    Using Electrical Appliances in Australia

    VOLTAGE
Australia operates on 220/240 volt AC electrical power (running on cycles of 50 hertz). For electric razors, many hotels are fitted with 110 volt sockets.

    ELECTRICAL OUTLETS
Two or three-blade plugs are required for electrical outlets in Australia. The two main blades of these plugs are angled, unlike the vertical blade configuration seen on North American plugs. For any electrical equipment or appliances that do not match the angled, two or three-blade configuration, an adapter or converter is necessary. NOTE: In order for an appliance to work safely, both the plug and the voltage of an electrical appliance must be converted.
