Flight Zone Hang-gliding School offers tandem flights and hand-gliding courses from Byron Bay, as well as a full range of equipment and repair services. The school has been operating since 1990 with fully qualified instructors and is open daily. Courses include solo flight training or rope tethering with an instructor.
Byron Airwaves is an accredited hang-gliding school with over 25 years of experience and offers tandem flights, lessons and full instruction from Byron Bay. Flights are approximately 30 minutes in length and soar above the area's national parks, scenic coastline, Cape Byron Lighthouse and occasionally even humpback whales and dolphins.
Byron Bay Microlights offers introductory trial flights, air tours and training in microlights from Tyagarah Airfield. Introductory flights come with equipment such as a flying suit, gloves, helmet and intercom headset, and can include extras such as whale watching and aerial photography instruction.
